Don’t forget to subscribe to our Girl Scout Blog – you’ll never have to worry about lost newsletters or erroneously deleted emails again. The blog has copies of all our newsletters as well as the calendar. In addition, our photo gallery will soon be up and running so you can see us in action. Just go to the site eoccs-girlscouts.blogspot.com. Subscribing up is a 2-step process. Once you enter your email, a confirmation will be sent to your address. Come back to the site, enter the confirmation code and you’re all done. Subscribers get automatic emails every time new content is posted. You’ll also be helping to save the environment by not using paper.

Sweet Shoppe

Just a reminder – the Sweet Shoppe originally scheduled for the February 8^th Blizzard Nemo weekend is on for this Saturday. We’ll be making a variety of candy and other sweets this March 2^nd from 1-3pm. Uniforms are not required as this will be a messy event! The Sweet Shoppe is $2.00 per girl.

Cookie Sale                                               

The initial order has been turned in and we’re just waiting for the cookie train to arrive!! (Our freshly baked cookies come by train from Little Brownie Bakers in Kentucky-there’s just too many to ship by truck!). But the cookie sale is not over yet. There are 2 dates to turn in re-orders and late orders-March 15^th and April 12^th.

Our cookies will be available for pickup on Friday, March 22^nd, 4:15-9pm. All girls will earn 30¢ per box which can be used to offset the cost of the remaining trips for this scout year.

Scout-a-Rama

Ready for some old-fashioned girl scout fun? We’re hosting a Scout-a-Rama! What’s that you ask? It’s a day of fun, games, crafts and singing. Since there will be other troops, we’ll be able to SWAP! The Scout-a-Rama will be Saturday, April 20^th and cost $5.00 per girl.

Save the Date

 Our end of the year trip is going to be June 1^st - 2^nd. We’re staying within the state this year and taking a trip to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, overnighting at our hotel in Berlin NJ, then spending the next day at Sahara Sam’s – NJ’s largest indoor water park. It’s going to be a great fun-filled weekend. Parents, who are attending as chaperones, are welcome to drive their cars, as the girls will be traveling on the school bus.

The cost is $100 for adults and $80 for girls. A $25 per person deposit is due by April 12^th. Deposits must be paid even for those whose balance is covered by cookie credit. As always the cost includes admissions, accommodations, food and transportation. More detailed information will follow, as we get closer to the date.

                               SNOW!!!

Girl Scouts will be cancelled today, Friday, February 8^th due to the impending storm. If you are sending your daughter to school, you may send her with her cookie money and form, as Mrs. Holman will be going to all buildings to collect it from the girls. Alternately, you may send it or bring it to school on Monday or Tuesday; Collection will be in building 106 on those days until 5pm.

Also the Sweet Shoppe scheduled for Saturday, has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 23^rd.  Note that because is closed for the holiday next week, there will be a Girl Scout meeting on Friday, February 22^nd.

Sweet Shoppe

How sweet it is! Join us for an afternoon of  sugary fun-filled pre-valentine treats. Older Girl Scouts will make, take and eat a variety of sweets as they earn the Sweet Shoppe Brownie Try-It or Junior Badge. Special tasty activities will be available just for Daisies. The Sweet Shoppe costs $2.00 and will be held at 99 Washington St, on Saturday, February 9^th from 12:30-2:30pm.

Cookie Sale

The cookie sale has started! Our council uses Little Brownie Bakers (the largest baker of Girl Scout cookies). We have the traditional favorites; Samoas, Thin Mints, Trefoils, DosiDos & Tagalongs. We've also got the newer favorites ;Thank U Berry Munch & Dulce de Leche  & Savannah Smiles. Other bakers may have other cookies but we have the original recipes! The Cookie Sale supports the Senior Luncheon, our Recognition Ceremony as well as our End of the year trip in June. Every girl who turns in an initial order for at least 150 boxes will earn a Crazy Daisy Zippered Bag.  

The cookies are $4.00 per box and, yes, we accept checks as long as they are payable to "Girl Scouts". Money for the initial cookie order will be collected on February 8^th. However the cookie sale doesn’t end there; you can sell cookies through April. The 2^nd order is due March 15^th and the 3^rd order is due April 12^th. 

Our own Brownie, Quinn Pierce, has been working on a community service project. Quinn collects water and soda bottle tops. Every 2,500 tops she that collects pays for a chemotherapy treatment for a cancer patient.  So far she’s collected almost 3,000 tops. Great work Quinn!!! Let’s help Quinn to help more cancer patients. Bring your bottle tops to Girl Scouts on for the rest of the year and we’ll see how many more people we can help!

Flapjack Breakfast

Thanks to all the parents who supported our first Flapjack Fundraiser by selling tickets or helping to serve. It was a great success. Congratulations to junior Sidney Bailey who sold the most tickets and will receive the a $20 gift card!.Save the date and join us for our next Flapjack Fundraiser on May 18^th.

Dues

As you remember the annual fee for joining the ECCCS Girl Scouts is $90 per girl. This yearly fee includes snacks, badges, activities and registration & supplies. $30 was due with registration, as well as $30 the first meeting of the month in November and December. If you have not made your dues payments please see Mrs. Holman as soon as possible to make arrangements. Mrs. Holman will be sending our reminder notices to all girls who have balances due.
