Cookie Sale

Cookie time is here! The Cookie Sale kicked-off on Friday, January 7th. This year is unprecedented; for the very first time we have 9 varieties in the lineup! Adventurefuls are an indulgent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt, that will take your tastebuds on an adventure. Despite the delicious taste, Adventurefuls are a regular cookie and sell for $5.00/box. Premium cookies, Toffee-tastics and S’mores are $6.00/box.

All parents MUST register for Digital Cookie. You should have received an email to register for Digital Cookie. With Digital Cookie, parents can post links to the cookie sale on their personal social media sites to publicize the sale and take online cookie sales. Adventurefuls can ONLY be ordered through girls’ Digital Cookie pages. Please email me at charter_girlscouts@yahoo.com, if you haven’t received your welcome email from GSUSA.

Paper forms can be picked up from 99 Washington St any day beginning on Tuesday. Don’t wait to get your form because you’ll also get to sample the new cookie. All initial orders are due on January 30th. You can place your order online and pay through Digital Cookie using a debit or credit card. You can also complete the order form link and pay with PayPal, Venmo, Zelle or CashApp. More information will follow on how to submit your order.

                   COVID Cancellations

We began this scout year on a positive note. COVID cases were down and it seemed like the world was slowly returning to normal. Unfortunately, as you all know, everything has taken a drastic turn for the worse. The number of COVID cases is skyrocketing. While the Prudential Center and the Minskoff Theatre have not canceled the performances, their safety protocols have changed. The new safety protocols for large event venues have been greatly tightened. The venues require that all attendees age 5 and up be fully vaccinated or provide a Doctor’s note stating they are medically unable to vaccinate along with COVID testing. Because these new protocols are so onerous, we are canceling The Lion King and the Disney on Ice trips. All deposits have been refunded and both events will be rescheduled for the fall of the 2022-2023 Girl Scout year.

As the cruise for older Girls is in the summer when COVID case numbers are expected to decline sharply, at this time the trip is still on. Should that change, we will notify everyone who plans to go.

Outdoor Activities

We’re still planning to have outdoor activities. We’re working with the council on the Sing-a-long as well as a weekend at Camp Hoover. We’ll keep you posted about both events.

Dues

Now that’s January, all Dues payments should have been made. The $60 troop dues which supports the cost of books, other supplies and snacks. All dues must be fully paid to participate in the cookie sale, which begins soon. While cash is always good, we prefer electronic payments and we have 2 ways to accept them. Both payment methods send the money directly to our bank account and give you automatic transaction records. Dues and trips can be paid through CashApp and PayPal. For CashApp, use our cash tag, which is $CharterGirlScouts.

For PayPal, use our email address charter_girlscouts@yahoo.com or paypal.me/CharterScouts and send to a friend. There are no transaction fees for either method.
