It's STILL Cookie Time

The cookie sale is winding down, as it ends on April 16th. But it’s not over yet, so make the push for final orders! Because re-orders and booth sales count towards final cookie totals, there’s still time to earn a higher prize level and reduce the cost of the end of year trip. We’re also going to be holding booth sales, which is when we go out into the public and sell cookies.  Remember, the sales from the booth sales are shared between girls to increase their prize level.

Booth Sales

A booth sale is when the troop goes to various locations to sell cookies to the public. We have set up several sales that are listed below. Girls who participate in the booth sales, can earn higher levels of prizes and earn a booth sale patch. You don't have to be there the entire sale; the usual shift is 2 hours. If you would like to participate in one of the booth sales, please let Dr. Holman know.

Thursday, 3/30  - EOCCS, 3:30-6:00p

Saturday, 4/1 - Shoprite, Brick Church Plaza, E Orange, 11a-4p

Wednesday, 4/5 - EOCCS, 3:30-6:00p

Thursday, 4/6 - EOCCS, 3:30-6:00p

Saturday, 4/8 - Codey Arena, Northfield Ave, W Orange, 11a-4p

Community Service in the Park

We’re taking part in a Watershed Clean Up Service Project. Working with the local AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador, we'll put our Leave No Trace principles in action, removing trash and litter that is not only unsightly but is also harmful to wildlife, our water supplies, and our oceans. We'll also talk about what a watershed is and learn how you can be an environmental advocate in your own community. This is a great opportunity for Older Girls to earn the service hours necessary for Silver and Gold Awards. All girls will also get a Clean-Up Park Patch. Everyone must be registered to attend. Text Dr. Holman and you’ll receive a permission slip on Friday. Parents must provide transportation to the event.

Date/Time:  Sunday, April 2nd, 1:00-3:00pm

Location: Eagle Rock Reservation, Eagle Rock Ave, W Orange.

Deadline: Thursday, March 30th

Beach Jam

Our end of the year trip will be to Beach Jam! What’s Beach Jam? It’s a weekend of waterparks, rides, barbecue and fun. The cost of the trip is $90 and includes admission, food, transportation and camping. We’ll be sleeping in tents on the beach in Wildwood, NJ. The trip is June 2nd-4th. A non-refundable deposit of $30 was due March 3rd. Girls can earn 30¢per box sold, to cover the rest of the trip. We only have 45 spaces on the bus and they are going quickly. Get your deposit in asap. All Daisies must be accompanied by an adult. The final payment is due May 15th and will be adjusted for cookie sales.

Overdue Dues…

Don’t forget- Girl scouts dues were payable in October, November and December and at this point are overdue. Even if you receive financial assistance for registration from the council, you are still responsible for your troop dues. Dues covers, books, snacks, materials. You are required to be current on your dues to attend any trips for the remainder of the scout year. Individual dues notices will go home March 31st.

Need to Make a Payment??

While cash is always good, we prefer electronic payments and we have 2 ways to accept them. Both payment methods send the money directly to our bank account and give you automatic transaction records. Dues and trips can be paid through CashApp and PayPal. For CashApp, use our cash tag, which is $CharterGirlScouts.

For PayPal, use our email address charter_girlscouts@yahoo.com or paypal.me/CharterScouts and send to a friend. There are no transaction fees for either method.
