Dues

Don’t forget, each girl has $75 troop dues that support the troop. At this time all dues should have been paid. Reminders will be sent home on February 1st, as dues must be paid before cookies come back.  Troop dues cover the cost of books, other supplies, snacks and parties. The annual registration fee goes directly to the council and we receive no funds from EOCCS.

Dues were payable in 3 installments of $25.00 each. The first dues payment was payable on Friday, October 3rd, the second payment was due on November 14th and the final payment was due on December 5th.  The easiest way to pay your dues is electronically; you can pay your daughter’s dues by Zelle, Venmo or PayPal.

Cookie Sale 2026
All parents needed to register for Digital Cookie in order to submit an online order. The initial order was due last Friday, January 23rd. Please let me know ASAP if you were not able to submit your order, as there were some issues with the site.

Going forward, all reorders MUST be submitted digitally. Your username to access the Digital Cookie site is your email address. If you need to reset your password, use this link.  DigitalCookie.girlscouts.org

Remember, you can share your daughter’s unique link and QR code with friends, family and co-workers and even through your social media accounts. Customers can purchase and pay for cookies online using a debit or credit card. There’s no need for you to collect any money.

While we always have extra cookies, we have to maintain our booth sale inventory. As a result, reorders may take longer to receive. Although we don’t have a definite delivery date, we will receive cookies by February 27th, at the latest.

Don’t forget- the 2026 Cookie Sale isn't ending. We've just placed the initial order. The cookie sale ends on March 27th, so keep selling to reach your goal!

Ringling Bros, Barnum & Bailey Circus
The circus is back, with awe-inspiring acts featuring 75 performers, from 18 different countries including aerial, acrobatics, world dance, music, comedy, and jaw-dropping thrills! We’ve got a very limited number of tickets to see Ringling Bros, Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Prudential Center in Newark on Friday, March 20th at 7p. (We’ll be leaving right after the meeting). Tickets are $25 per person, so we have very few for families. Because of the limited number of tickets, we have bus transportation for everyone. Payment is due February 20th, but get your tickets fast.

Uniforms

Our troops uniform consists of a girl scout polo, vest and khaki skirt or pants. The vest, along with the council patch tab and numbers, can be purchased at the council shop starting at $48.00 depending on the age level. Exact prices are listed below. September 2025

Welcome to a New Year of

Girl Scouting at EOCCS!

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 Scout Year!

Registration

The annual registration fee to join Girl Scouts has increased to $60 and there are several ways to register.  You can re-register through the GSHNJ website. Returning Girl Scouts can pay the registration fee by sending $60 to Mrs. Holman by cash, check or through Zelle ($CharterGirlScouts) or PayPal (charter_girlscouts@yahoo.com). CashApp is NOT an option. The Girl Scout council also provides financial assistance to cover the $60 registration fee to anyone who applies. The form can be downloaded from the Permission slip link on the left or you can request to have one sent home. Financial Assistance form must be retuned with proof of income. Registration fees go directly to the council and do not benefit the troop. All girls MUST be registered to participate.

Meetings

Girl Scout meetings will be held the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the months that school is in session. A link to our calendar on the left. Meetings will be at 99 Washington on the 2nd floor. There's no need to bring girls to the meetings. 2nd graders will be transported to 682 with the Aftercare students. Then all Girl Scouts will be walked across the street with their leaders.

Meetings are from 4:15-5:45pm. Please try not to pick up your daughter before 5:40p as we are having snacks and doing closing circles. However, picking up your child after 6:00p prevents us from spending time with our own children and families. As a result, parents arriving after 6:00 will be subject to a $1/minute late fee which is payable when the girl scout is picked up.

May 2025

 Important Dates

May 31st  – ALL EOY trip deposit money due
June 6th  – Last Meeting/Final Trip payment due
June 8th  – GS Trip Day
June 12th  – Ceremony

The 2025 Cookie Sale was not as successful as we would have liked due to a number of reasons. Not only was the national economy a factor, but girl participation was down. Our booth sales were hindered by both weather and lack of girls taking part. Because we can’t return cookies that were ordered in anticipation of sales, we have cookies to sell that we had to pay for out of our profits. These factors have guided our end of year trip day, which will be on Sunday, June 8th.

Level Trips

This year, Daisies and Brownies are going to Feeding Day at Turtle Back Zoo! These younger scouts will not only view a variety of animals, they’ll also be able to feed everything one can feed at the zoo - giraffes, goats, sting rays and birds! They’ll also take a walk through the Butterfly tent. The trip is $25 per person and includes admission and all feeding activities, lunch and bus transportation. We need a non-refundable deposit of $10 by Saturday, May 31st to hold a spot. The final payment is due Friday, June 6th. Girls can pay the balance using cookie credit. I will be sending individual Remind messages with the amount of cookie credit earned.

Juniors and OGs are going to Top Golf! In case you’ve never been, Topgolf is a high-tech, virtual, interactive entertainment venue where everyone can have fun, golfing regardless of their skill level. This trip is $45 per person and includes golfing, snacks and bus transportation. We need a non-refundable deposit of $15 by Saturday, May 31st to hold a spot. The final payment is due Friday, June 6th. Girls can pay the balance using cookie credit. I will be sending individual Remind messages with the amount of cookie credit earned.

Ceremony

Please join us for our end of the year recognition ceremony on Thursday, June 13th from 5:30-7:00p in the Multipurpose Room at 99 Washington St. Girls will be recognized for all the hard work they have done this year. It's going to be a great party! Light Refreshments will be served. Let us know if you would be able to donate a dish for the celebration. Girls should have their scout uniforms and do NOT need to be picked up from school.

Registration Increase

Girl scout registration increased to $40 in 2016. in the 9 years since, almost everything else in the world has increased in price. To fill a funding shortfall, at their 57th Annual meeting, Girl Scouts of the USA voted to increase membership fees for both girls and adults over a two-year period. For the 2025-2026 scout year, girl registration is increasing to $60 and adult registration is increasing to $30. In the 2026-2027 scout year, annual girl registration will increase to $80; adult registration will remain at $30.

We are currently accepting registrations for the 2025-2026 scout year, which last from October 1st-September 30th. You can send the registration payment by Zelle or PayPal using our email address, charter_girlscouts@yahoo.com. Just make sure to include your daughter’s name. You can also create an account and register online at gshnj.org. If you need a financial assistance form, they will be available at the ceremony. It's essential that you register soon, as our spots fill up quickly.

Camping
It’s that time of the year again! We’re going back to Camp Lou Henry Hoover in Newton, NJ, the weekend of May 23rd-25th. We'll spend Friday and Saturday nights sleeping in heated all-weather cabins. Because we’ll be going alongside other girl scouts from Orange and East Orange, space is limited. As it will be warm weather, we're also going  boating. As always, everyone will need a sleeping bag or bed roll. Permission slips and supply list are going home Friday.
The trip is $20 per person, which covers the cost of dinner on Friday night and a Camp Hoover patch, is due May 2nd. All other activities, food, cabin camping and transportation are included. The menu for Friday night will be chicken wings, yellow rice, salad and dessert.
As always, we will  be collecting electronics during the day and returning them to girls after dinner.
