Norman Towers
We are hosting our 1st community service event of the year, a luncheon for the seniors at Norman Towers in East Orange on Saturday, November 16th. The luncheon is from 11:30-1:30. We give each senior a gift bag, so we’re asking that each girl donate 3 unisex toiletry items (soap, lotion, etc) to give to the seniors. In order to attend, all girls must be in uniform. Parents must provide transportation to and from the event. Norman Towers is located at 500 North Walnut St,
Also please speak, to Junior leader – Monique Brathwaite or Brownie Leader – Tarah Jn-Louis if you would like to make a food donation. The seniors LOVE home cooking.
Uniforms
Uniforms are available at the Girl Scout Council at 120 Valley Rd, Montclair. The shop hours are 9:00am-5:00pm Wednesdays & Fridays and the 9:00-12:00 the 2nd Saturday of the month. Our troops uniform consists of a vest and skirt or pants. The vest, along with the council patch and flag, can be purchased at the council shop for approximately $25.00. You have the option of purchasing the matching bottom from the council. You can also purchase a pair of uniform Khaki pants.
Please note, you MUST have uniform pieces (vest and/or shirt) to be considered in uniform. Wearing the girl scout colors is NOT sufficient nor are graphic T-shirts.
Nut Sale
We are in the midst of our fall fundraiser, the Candy and Nut Sale. Your daughter can earn a series of interlocking patches by participating in the sale. By selling 12 candy and nut items and 3 magazine subscriptions, your daughter can earn the tow biggest pieces of the interlocking patch. The final patches can be earned with no selling. All that’s required is to complete the pink address booklet with 10 names and addresses as well as the online activities. Below is access to the online link, https://girlscouts.qsp.com/gsa/index.aspx?siteid=12&faccountid=425610082. Or you may access through a link from the product sales tab at gshnj.org. It’s not to late to participate. Final orders are due November 16th and will be delivered the week of December 12th.
