February 2019

Winter is winding down and it’s time for us to start thinking about warm weather activities.
We’ve got a lot planned for the rest of the scout year!

Important Dates

See Mary Poppins With Us!

If your daughter saw Mary Poppins Returns the movie, did she wonder what happened before the movie? Now’s the time to find out because we’re going to see Mary Poppins the play. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend. You must provide your own transportation.
The show is Saturday, March 16th at 7:30p at Columbia High School, 17 Parker Ave, Maplewood. Tickets are $10 and all money is due, Friday, March 1st no exceptions.



It's Cookie Time!

Cookies will be back on Thursday, March 14th. You’ll be able to pick up Thursday, 2-5p, Friday, 4:30-8:30p and Sunday 12-3p. We have a ton of extra cookies, so keep selling. Remember the cookie sale ends April 14th. We’re also going to be holding booth sales. Make sure you sign up for one. Remember, the sales from the booth sales are shared between girls to increase their prize level.




Hershey Park

Our end the year trip will be camping at Hershey Park! The cost of the trip is $80 and includes admission, food, transportation and camping. We’ll be sleeping in tents at the Hershey Park Campground.The trip is June 1st and 2nd. A non-refundable deposit of $30 is due April 5th. Girls can earn 30¢per box sold, to cover the rest of the trip. We only have 45 spaces on the bus, so unless you plan to drive, make sure your deposit is timely. All Daisies must be accompanied by an adult. The final payment is due May 17th and will be adjusted for cookie sales.




Dues, Dues, Dues!

Don’t forget-Girl scouts dues were payable in October, November and December. Even if you receive financial assistance for registration from the council, you are still responsible for your troop dues. Dues covers, books, snacks, materials. You are required to be current on your dues to participate in cookie sales. Individual dues notices, will go home on Wednesday, February 27th.




Mighty Girl Derby!

We had a great time racing cars last year. This year’s Mighty Girl Derby is scheduled for Sunday, May 19th. Cars are $20 per girl. Start planning your design now! Sign up early so you can get your car as soon as they become available. And, yes, there will be another car design workshop. More details to follow.

Thanks to everyone who donated to our Winter Accessory Drive. We were able to donate 2 coats as well a many hats, scarves and gloves to the Community Food Bank of NJ. All together our drop-off filled a large garbage bag.
