Dismissal
Regretfully, due to Covid safety measures, parents will not be allowed upstairs at 99 Washington to pick up Girl Scouts. All Girl Scouts will come downstairs at 5:45p and gather in the Multipurpose room to await parents. As a reminder, all girls must be picked up by 6:00pm.
2021 Candy and Nut Sale
There’s still time to participate in our fall fundraiser, the Candy and Nut Sale. We will give out forms for in-person sales to anyone who would like one. Girl Scouts can earn multiple patches by participating in the hybrid sale, by using both online and paper forms. There are various ways Girl Scouts can earn patches when they participate in the sale. By selling 15 candy and nut items and 2 magazine subscriptions girls can earn 2 patch segments. A final patch can be earned by registering on the nut sale website and entering 15 email addresses. More specifics are in the Nut & Candy packet. The deadline to turn in money for in-person sales is due October 22nd.
Campfire Sing-Along - Postponed
Unfortunately, the Sing-Along at the Oval has been postponed until the spring. We’ll be singing songs and making S’mores around a campfire. You’ll learn new songs that we can sing when we finally do get to camp out overnight. The event will still be $3.00 per girl, but we will let you know the new date as soon as possible.
Disney on Ice - Date Change
We’re still going to see Disney on Ice – Mickey’s Search Party at the Prudential Center in Newark, but the date has changed to Friday, November 5th. Scout day is Friday, not Wednesday, this year. Everything else remains the same. Tickets are $22 per person. This is a family event, so all are welcome to attend. Payment is due October 1st, the day of our first meeting. Masks are required to attend.
Dues
You've paid your $40 registration to the council. Now what? There is still $60 troop dues which supports the troop. Dues are payable in 3 payments of $20.00 each.
The first dues payment is due today, Friday, October 1st. The second payment is due on November 12th , while the final payment is due on December 4th. Alternatively, you can pay the full amount at one time. Remember, troop dues covers the cost of books, other supplies and snacks.
Uniforms
Our troops uniform consists of a girl scout polo, vest and khaki skirt or pants. The vest, along with the council patch and flag, can be purchased at the council shop for approximately $30.00. Although it is not necessary to buy it, check out the new uniform choices for Daisies, Brownies and Juniors. Please note, you MUST have vest to be considered in uniform. Wearing the girl scout colors is NOT sufficient nor are graphic T-shirts. In addition, only age level badges go on the front of the uniform, Nut, Cookie and other fun patches must be placed on the back.
