 October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the EOCCS Girl Scouts have our own breast cancer survivor: Ms. Vera. To show our support we’re going to help out at the Breast Cancer Walk in Newark on Sunday October 17th.  

We have just been given permission to cheer on walkers, from, 9:00am-11:30am, as they stride to eliminate cancer. All girls must be at Mulberry Commons Park, 165 Mulberry St, across from the Prudential Center in Newark, by 9:00am.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Making Strides will be different from our usual experience, as the health and safety of the participants is paramount to the organizers. The walk will have staggered start times, to encourage social distancing. Because the walk is eco-friendly, everyone is encouraged to bring their own re-useable water bottles. 

Please text me at (973) 280-3037 if you plan to come, so I can get an accurate count. If possible, girls should wear uniforms and pink accessories to demonstrate their support for the cause.   

 

Disney on Ice 

 This Sunday, October 15th is the ABSOLUTE last day to pay for Disney on Ice. Tickets are $22 per person. This is a family event, so all are welcome to attend. As a reminder, the show is Friday, November 5th at 7pm. Masks are required to attend. 

Children 2 and under do not need a ticket, as long as they are sitting on an adult's lap. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the show. 

     Nut & Candy Sale

Our fall fundraiser, the Candy and Nut Sale is almost over. The deadline to turn in orders is next Friday, although we aren't having a meeting. As we had a hybrid sale, we will also have do hybrid order submission. 

If you've registered online, you can turn in your order through the M2 website. If you haven't registered online, you can turn in your order using this link to the Google Order form Nut & Candy Form. Once you submit your order through the link, you can CashApp payment to $CharterGirlScouts or to send a PayPal to charter_girlscouts@yahoo.com. Be sure to include your daughter's name in your CashApp or PayPal. 

The deadline to turn in money for in-person sales is October 22^nd. Orders will be delivered the week of November 14th. I'll give you the exact date as soon as it it available. 

As a reminder, each girl has $60 troop dues that supports the troop. Dues are payable in 3 payments of $20.00 each.

 The first dues payment was payable on Friday, October 1st. The second payment is due on November 12th and the final payment is due on December 4th. Alternatively, you can pay the full amount at one time. Troop dues covers the cost of books, other supplies and snacks.
