Lion King

The Circle of Life has returned to Broadway and we’re going to Pride Rock! Yes, we have a limited number of tickets to see the Lion King at the Minskoff Theatre at 2p on Saturday, February 26th. Sorry, this event is only for girls, although we do have a limited number of tickets for adult chaperones. The tickets are $70 for girl scouts and $85 for adults and include bus transportation. A non-refundable deposit of $30 is due on Friday, December 10th and the balance will be due on Friday, January 21st. 

Winter Accessory Drive

We're having a winter accessory drive! While homeless children and families frequently get donated coats, they don't always get accessories. So for four weeks, we'll be collecting hats, scarves and gloves to give to children and adults who are less fortunate. The last time we were able, we collected a large bag of accessories and even 1 coat!  Look for a Christmas-wrapped collection box in any building. Accessory donation boxes will be in all buildings from November 22nd to December 17th.

Disney on Ice, Again

We liked it so much the first time, we’re doing it again! We have a limited number of tickets to see Disney on Ice–Let’s Celebrate at the Prudential Center in Newark on Friday, January 14th at 7p. Because the troop is subsidizing the girls, tickets are $15 for girl scouts and $22 for anyone else. All family and friends are welcome to attend. The tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis, in a similar section as before and must be paid for by December 22nd. Extra tickets will NOT be in the same section. Bus transportation will be on a first come, first served basis. So book the bus, when you buy your tickets. 

Dues 

You're registered! Now what? There is still $60 troop dues which supports the troop. Even if financial assistance has been received, all girls have dues, which are payable in 3 installments of $20.00 each. 

The first dues payment was due on Friday, October 1st. The second payment was due on November 12th, while the final payment is due on December 3rd. Alternatively, you can pay the full amount at one time. Remember, troop dues cover the cost of books, other supplies and snacks. All dues must be fully paid to participate in the cookie sale, which begins soon.

Sail Away, Finally!

We instituted a trip just for girls who had completed the 8th grade. COVID put it on hold,
but now it’s back. All girls who have completed the 8th will be able to take a cruise with the troop. Eligible older girls can take the trip every 3 years, starting in 2022 and continuing in 2025. Girls have banked their cookie credit, for 3 years, to cover the cost of the cruise. The postponed inaugural cruise is in July, 2022 to Bermuda. See Mrs. Holman for more information and the payment plan.

How Would You Like to Pay?

While cash is always good, we prefer electronic payments and we have 2 ways to accept them. Both payment methods send the money directly to our bank account and give you automatic transaction records. Dues and trips can be paid through CashApp and PayPal. For CashApp, use our cash tag, which is $CharterGirlScouts.
