Camping
Our first trip this year will be an overnight camping trip to Camp Lou Henry Hoover in Newton, NJ, the weekend of November 18th-20th. We'll spend Friday and Saturday nights sleeping in heated all-weather cabins. We'll have a fun day, do archery, tackle a ropes course, hiking and more. And we'll complete several badges. Although we are not sleeping in tents, everyone will need a sleeping bag or bed roll. It's $10 per girl ($15 per adult) and includes all activities, food, tent camping and transportation. Due to their age, all Daisies must be accompanied by an adult. We have limited cabin space, so pay for the trip asap! The payment deadline was Friday, October 28th. All registration paperwork must be completed and turned in to attend. We love parent chaperones, however, because this is a GSHNJ camp facility,so all attending adults must be registered with the council. Parents can register as adult members through the following link. https://mygs.girlscouts.org/volunteer
Dues
As a reminder, each girl has $75 troop dues that supports the troop. Dues are payable in 3 payments of $25.00 each.
The first dues payment was payable on Friday, October 8th. The second payment is due on November 4th and the final payment is due on December 2nd. Alternatively, you can pay the full amount at one time. Troop dues covers the cost of books, other supplies and snacks.
Uniforms
Our troops uniform consists of a girl scout polo, vest and khaki skirt or pants. The vest, along with the council patch tab and numbers, can be purchased at the council shop starting at $44.00 depending on the agel level. Exact prices are listed below. Although it is not necessary to buy them, check out the new uniform choices for Daisies, Brownies and Juniors. The colors may be the same, but everything is updated for today’s girl!

Girls can wear either their school uniform or the girl scout uniform. Please note, you MUST have a vest to be considered in uniform. Wearing the girl scout colors is NOT sufficient nor are graphic T-shirts. In addition, only age level badges go on the front of the uniform, Nut, Cookie and other fun patches must be placed on the back.
Check out the link on the left for uniform specifics, troop numbers & levels. Use the pictures as a guide to know where iron-on/sew everything.
Dr. Holman makes monthly trips to the Westfield shop and can pick up the vest (with everything to iron on), as well as other accessories, for anyone who finds it difficult to get to the shop. Simply forward payment and size.
The Daisy vest is $44
The Brownie vest is $45
The Junior vest is $46
The OG regular vest is $51; OG Cargo vest is $59
Aladdin
Disney on Ice may have been canceled, but your wish is granted! We’re going to Broadway to see the Genie and his lamp! Yes, we have a limited number of tickets to see Disney's Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 8p. While this event is only for girls, we do have a limited number of tickets for adult chaperones. The tickets are $60 for girl scouts and $75 for adults and include bus transportation. A non-refundable deposit of $30 is due on Friday, December 9th and the balance will be due on Friday, January 13th.
Winter Accessory Drive
We're having a winter accessory drive! While homeless children and families frequently get
donated coats, they don't always get accessories. So for four weeks, we'll be collecting hats, scarves and gloves to give to children and adults who are less fortunate. The last time we were able, we collected a large bag of accessories and even 1 coat! Look for a Christmas-wrapped collection box in all buildings from November 18th to December 16th.
Investiture/Rededication Ceremony
A part of Girl Scouts is working to incorporate the Girl Scout Promise and Law into our daily lives, so we’re having a combination Investiture/Rededication ceremony. An investiture ceremony welcomes all new members to Girl Scouts, while a rededication ceremony is a way for returning members to renew their commitment to the Girl Scout Promise and Law. During the ceremony girls reflect on the ideals of the Girl Scout Movement and what it means to join a sisterhood of millions of girls.
Sail Away, Finally!
