Important Information for a New Year of 

Girl Scouting at EOCCS

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 Scout Year!

Our meetings may be a little different but we’re still going strong. We thought we’d have an in-person ceremony but that can’t happen. We’re beginning the year with our delayed Recognition Ceremony on Friday, September 18^th. After that, we’ll be meeting virtually two times a month.

 Our ceremony was delayed, not canceled. We thought we’d be able to have it

socially distanced once school re-opened, but unfortunately that can’t happen. So, we’re going virtual. You’re invited to our  Zoom Ceremony. We’re asking that all girls scouts send a picture to our email address, charter_girlscouts@yahoo.com, so that we can create a slide show of the troops. If you have any pictures from events, we’ll also include them in the slideshow.

Registration

The annual registration fee to join Girl Scouts is $40. You can join or re-register through the following link. https://girlscouts.secure.force.com/girl. Returning Girl Scouts can also pay the registration fee by sending $40 to Mrs. Holman by cash, check or through CashApp ($CharterGirlScouts) or PayPal (charter_girlscouts@yahoo.com). The Girl Scout council also provides financial assistance to cover the $40 registration fee to qualified applicants. or anyone who applies. The form can be downloaded from the Permission slip link on the left. Registration fees go directly to the council and do not benefit the troop. You can also pick up a Financial Assistance form from 99 Washington St. They can also be returned with the required documentation.

 

Meetings

Until further notice, Girl Scout meetings will be held 2 Fridays month virtually. A link to our calendar on the left. More dates will be added once we get the chance to use the school building. Each age level will meet via a Zoom link. Brownies & Juniors will meet from 5:00-6:15; Daisies and OGs will meet 5:15-6:30.

 

Communication 

Please make sure you follow our blog. As always there are no newsletters to keep track of. You can get new content on your computer, tablet or phone. Our blog has everything in one place about what’s going on with the EOCCS Girl Scouts as well as our calendar.

 The address is eoccs-girlscouts.blogspot.com. You can check it from

any computer or smart phone. There also a link on the school website in case you lose the web address. However, if you subscribe, you’ll get an automatic notice anytime something new is posted.

 Subscribing is a simple 2-stage process. 1^st click the subscribe link so you can enter your email address and the verification text. You’ll soon get an email with a link to click on to verify your subscription. Once you verify, you’re all set.

 For quick messages we use the remind app. Text 81010 to sign up. Enter

@tr21247 for Daisies; @tr21248 for Brownies; @tr21249 for Juniors or @tr21246 for OGs. Sign up for remind and you'll get a text every time there's new content on the blog.

Dues 

Although, we’re meeting virtually, we’re still collecting dues. This year girls will do more crafting badges than discussion badges. Girls will be able to pick up a supply bag from 99 with all the materials, they need to complete the badge. The girls will complete badges using materials from their supply bag during virtual meetings. In the past, dues were $75 for the year however, as we won’t need to get snack

dues have been reduced to $60. Dues are payable in 3 payments of $20 each.

 The first dues payment is due on Friday, October 9^th. The second payment is due on November 13^th, while the final payment is due on December 4^th. Alternatively, you can pay the full amount at one time.
